About
I'm Sophie, a French-raised, culinary-trained filmmaker focused on documenting the intersection of food and immigrant communities in the Hudson Valley.
I'm the Junior Sous Chef and a lead photographer for The Wild, a farm-to-table restaurant in Beacon, NY. I'm currently working on an original docuseries about immigrant-run restaurants in the Hudson Valley; the first episode, "Resistance Through Food" is about a Palestinian chef in Beacon and will be released in June of 2026.
I hold a Bachelor's degree from Wellesley College (2022), where I studied film and photography. Past documentary work includes Planting Roots (2022), a film about CSA farming in Massachusetts; and Guardianes del Cacao (2025), a film about the ancestral roots of cacao in Ecuador.
I've interned with French news agency Agence France-Presse, Ecuadorian media company Comidas Que Curan, and Minnesota-based Beer Dabbler. I'm currently looking to hone my skills as a freelance food photographer and stylist.
